Books to Keep the Memory of Your Dog Alive

I was recently asked to create a photo book for a friend whose family dog had passed away. She sent over years of photos—from the first adoption to the later days. You could see how loved she was—snuggled into every part of their lives.

It reminded me of my own dog, Ruby. We adopted her before we had kids, and she’s been there through every chapter since: the moves, the walks, the cozy afternoons, the joyful chaos. Our pets become witnesses to our lives—there for the quiet moments and the big celebrations.

When you look back at photos of your dog, you’re not just seeing their story—you’re seeing yours, too. That’s why I love turning those everyday phone photos into a Keepsakery book. It transforms memories from screens into something you can hold, flip through, and share.

When I design a Keepsakery, I try to capture the little slices of life:

  • Silly Halloween costumes

  • Traveling to see family

  • Lazy mornings and playful afternoons

These are the moments that weave together a fuller story—your dog’s life, and your life alongside them.

Scrolling through photos on a phone can’t compare to sitting down with a beautifully bound book. It’s a way to honor your pet, keep their spirit close, and ensure their story lives on in the heart of your family.

The back of the Keepsakery book has a photo of the rock that shows where Lena was buried.
